Need help implementing schema markup?
Our SEO experts can implement structured data across your entire website for maximum rich results.
What is Schema Markup?
Schema markup (also known as structured data) is code that you add to your website to help search engines understand your content better. It uses a standardized vocabulary from Schema.org to describe things like articles, products, events, businesses, and more.
When search engines understand your content, they can display rich results (also called rich snippets) - enhanced search listings that stand out and provide more information to users directly in the search results.
Why Use JSON-LD?
There are three main formats for structured data: JSON-LD, Microdata, and RDFa. Google recommends JSON-LD because:
- Easy to implement - It’s a script that goes in the
<head>or<body>of your page, separate from your HTML markup - Easy to maintain - You don’t need to modify your existing HTML structure
- Less error-prone - Since it’s separate from your content, there’s less chance of breaking something
- Dynamic content friendly - Works well with JavaScript-generated content
Supported Schema Types
Our generator supports the most commonly used schema types:
Content Types
- Article / BlogPosting - For news articles, blog posts, and other editorial content
- FAQPage - For frequently asked questions pages (can earn FAQ rich results)
- HowTo - For step-by-step instructions and tutorials
Business & Organization
- Organization - For companies, brands, and institutions
- LocalBusiness - For physical business locations with address and hours
- Person - For individuals, authors, and professionals
Products & Commerce
- Product - For products with pricing, availability, and reviews
Events & Navigation
- Event - For concerts, conferences, workshops, and other events
- BreadcrumbList - For breadcrumb navigation trails
- WebSite - For sitewide information and search functionality

<script type="application/ld+json">
{
"@context": "https://schema.org",
"@type": "Article",

...
}
</script>
</head>
Best Practices
- Be accurate - Only describe content that actually exists on the page
- Use specific types - Choose the most specific schema type (e.g.,
LocalBusinessoverOrganization) - Include required properties - Each schema type has required and recommended properties
- Test before publishing - Always validate your markup with testing tools
- Keep it updated - Update your schema when page content changes
Validating Your Schema
After generating and implementing your schema, validate it with these official tools:
- Google Rich Results Test - See which Google rich results your page is eligible for
- Schema.org Validator - Check general schema validity without platform-specific features
